Okay so I didn’t think it’d get this far but…
On Saturday I’m moving back into Halls of Residence at University and I need someone to take over the full-time care of Finn and Pancake (my two female rats).
Recently I’ve been offered a £10,000 scholarship to study for my Masters Degree at The University of York (only tenable for the 2013/14 academic year), however to do so this it means moving back into University accommodation where they have VERY strict rules on pets. As I’d be living on campus with a 24hour porter service it’s going to be impossible to sneak my babies into my accommodation like I did in my second year of studying, so I really need to find them a full-time home with someone who’s going to take the best care of them.
Making the decision to go back to University was one of the hardest I’ve ever had to make, and it was made a 100x harder by the fact I knew I was going to have to give up the rats. However initially a few of my friends stepped forward and told me they’d love to take them (which also meant I got to see them when i was home), but as it’s got closer to the time none are able to honour their promise. Hence this last minute panic!
So basically this post is a plea to see if any of my British rat lover follower would like to / know anyone who would like to adopt my babies. They’d need to be kept together with just the two of them as they’re getting old now, so I don’t really want them going to a new home and getting stressed out being introduced to more rattie friends.
They’d come with their cage, spare litter, food, all their toys, boxes, tubes and houses I’ve acquired over the two years I’ve had them. And I’ll arrange transport to get them to you wherever you live.
These two guys have the best temperament, neither of them have ever bitten anyone and all they really want out of life is to be fed and cuddled. Anyone that follows my blog knows how cute my fury little critters are and just how much I adore them, and anyone who’s followed my life events over the past year know that these guys have helped pull me out of some really bad places.
I really really don’t want to have to give my babies up, and I don’t want to be seen as one of those people who rehomes their pets willy nilly, but I literally have no other option.
If anyone could help me out I’d be so incredibly grateful!
Thank you for even taking the time to read this,
